Peer Support

A Certified Peer Support Specialist is an individual who uses their lived experience in recovery from mental illness and/or substance use disorder.  They are able to teach their clients about community resources, help clients through the process of receiving services, as well as supporting them in a way some professionals can’t.  The true value of a Certified Peer is their ability to more fully empathize with clients, because they have been in their shoes. Sometimes, clients need someone who has been there, and made it to recovery.
